juanatsap ae89d84e07 refactor: Integrate PreferencesMiddleware and update handlers
Complete middleware integration with comprehensive testing:

1. Middleware Integration
   - Added PreferencesMiddleware to middleware chain in routes
   - Order: Recovery → Logger → SecurityHeaders → Preferences → Mux
   - Reads all preference cookies once per request
   - Stores in context for handlers to access

2. Handler Updates
   - cv_pages.go: Home handler uses middleware.GetPreferences()
   - cv_htmx.go: All toggle handlers use middleware preferences
   - Eliminated manual cookie reading in handlers
   - Migration logic handled entirely by middleware

3. Comprehensive Middleware Tests
   - Created preferences_test.go with 10+ test functions
   - Tests: default values, migrations, cookie setting, context access
   - Verified: extended→long, true→show, false→hide migrations
   - All tests passing

Benefits:
- Performance: Cookies read once per request (not multiple times)
- Consistency: All handlers get same preference values
- Maintainability: Migration logic centralized in middleware
- Testability: Easy to mock preferences via context

Testing:
- All unit tests pass (handlers + middleware)
- Build succeeds
- No breaking changes

juanatsap b44f9b9a99 refactor: Rename 'extended' → 'long' + add compact sidebar fonts
BREAKING CHANGE: API parameter renamed from 'extended' to 'long'

## Breaking Change: Terminology Standardization

Renamed 'extended' to 'long' across entire codebase for consistency:

**Backend (Go):**
- internal/handlers/cv.go (7 locations)
  - Migration logic to auto-convert 'extended' → 'long' cookies
  - API validation now rejects 'extended', requires 'long'
  - Toggle state logic updated
- internal/handlers/pdf_test.go (17 occurrences)
  - Test function renamed: TestExportPDF_ExtendedWithSkills → TestExportPDF_LongWithSkills
  - All test cases, parameters, and expected filenames updated
- internal/pdf/generator.go (2 comment updates)

**Frontend:**
- PDF-EXPORT-FEATURE.md (3 occurrences)
- doc/3-API.md (parameter documentation)
- doc/7-CUSTOMIZATION.md (examples updated)
- templates/partials/modals/pdf-modal.html (button text, URLs)
- static/js/main.js (migration logic)
- static/hyperscript/toggles._hs (toggle logic)
- tests/mjs/24-pdf-download-params.test.mjs (test expectations)
- tests/mjs/test-preference-migration.test.mjs (NEW)
- tests/mjs/verify-migration.test.mjs (NEW)

**PDFs Renamed:**
- cv-extended-with_skills-jamr-2025-en.pdf → cv-long-with_skills-jamr-2025-en.pdf
- cv-extended-with_skills-jamr-2025-es.pdf → cv-long-with_skills-jamr-2025-es.pdf

**Migration:** Automatic cookie migration from 'extended' → 'long' for seamless UX

## New Feature: Compact Sidebar Fonts

Reduces page count for short CV with skills from 6 → 5 pages:

**Implementation:**
- Location: internal/pdf/generator.go (lines 154-215)
- Cookie detection: `cookies["cv-length"] == "short"`
- Font reduction: 2-6% (0.94-0.98em) - very subtle
- Only activates for: `length=short` + `version=with_skills`
- Long version: Always uses full-size fonts

**Impact:**
- Page count: 6 pages → 5 pages (16.7% reduction)
- Readability: Maintained - fonts remain professional
- Design philosophy: Subtle, natural content flow

**Testing:**
- New test: TestPDFGenerator_CompactSidebarFonts
- Comprehensive coverage of cookie detection and PDF generation
- Manual verification: 5-page PDF with compact but readable fonts

**Documentation:**
- doc/LONG-PDF-GENERATION.md (NEW, 13 KB)
  - Complete feature documentation
  - Implementation details with code examples
  - Font size breakdown table
  - Testing and troubleshooting guides
  - Compact sidebar fonts section (comprehensive)

**Files Changed:**
- 11 modified (backend + frontend + docs)
- 5 new files (2 PDFs, 1 doc, 2 tests)
- 2 files renamed (PDFs)

**Tests:** All Go tests passing, API validation verified, PDF generation tested

juanatsap 2e90653d31 fix: Course list icons - 24px size + attempt color preservation
- Reduced course responsibility icons to 24px (was 80px)
- Added color: inherit !important to try preserving inline color styles
- Removed borders, backgrounds, and padding for cleaner inline appearance

Note: color: inherit may inherit from parent theme color rather than
preserving individual icon colors. May need adjustment.

juanatsap 43414b79ac fix: Override inline icon sizes to 1.2em across all sections
Problem: Inline icons embedded in responsibilities, courses, and
projects had explicit width='60' height='60' attributes that made
them too large (60px instead of ~16px).

Solution:
- Added CSS with !important to override inline width/height attributes
- Targeted inline icons in:
  * Course responsibilities and descriptions
  * Project descriptions and technologies
  * Experience responsibilities (within divs)
- Preserved large icons (80px) for main company/course/project logos

Changes:
- static/css/03-components/_courses.css: Override to 1.2em
- static/css/03-components/_projects.css: Override to 1.2em
- static/css/03-components/_cv-section.css: Override to 1.2em

Test Results:
 7 course inline icons: 16px × 16px
 Main company icons: 80px × 80px (preserved)

juanatsap 93e7b81061 fix: Change dark theme icon border to #5e5e5e medium gray
- Changed from transparent to #5e5e5e (rgb(94,94,94))
- Visible but subtle medium gray border in dark theme
- Updated test to verify new border color
- Note: CSS filter on LIV Golf only affects image pixels, not border
2025-11-19 15:49:55 +00:00
juanatsap df77a269c0 fix: Make icon borders completely transparent in dark theme
- Changed from rgba(255,255,255,0.05) to 'transparent'
- Previous attempt used WHITE transparent which was still visible
- Now borders are rgba(0,0,0,0) - completely invisible
- Verified with Playwright test showing transparent borders
- All icons (OBS, LIV Golf, etc.) now have no visible borders
2025-11-19 15:41:36 +00:00
juanatsap 35a802cbd5 fix: Keep sidebar background consistent across themes
Change sidebar background from var(--sidebar-bg) to fixed #d1d4d2
so it remains the same light gray color in both light and dark themes.

The sidebar should provide a consistent visual anchor regardless
of the main content theme.

juanatsap d220546d02 fix: Bidirectional hover sync + theme-aware CV text colors
**Bug 1: Bidirectional Hover Sync**
- Fixed hover sync to work in BOTH directions
- Hovering left buttons → highlights menu buttons (was working)
- Hovering menu buttons → highlights left buttons (NOW WORKING)
- Added .download-btn and .print-friendly-btn to syncPdfHover/syncPrintHover selectors

- Added theme-specific overrides for --text-dark and --text-gray variables
- Solution uses CSS variables (not hardcoded) for future flexibility

Changes:
- static/hyperscript/hover-sync._hs: Added left-side button selectors
- static/css/color-theme.css: Added legacy variable overrides for all themes

juanatsap 45e5be1ea3 test: Add comprehensive button positioning test (test 14)
Validates button positioning and responsive behavior across all viewports:

Desktop (>900px):
- Left side buttons (download, print, shortcuts, info) vertically stacked
- Back-to-top button on right side (intentional design)
- Zoom button visible
- Different bottom values verify vertical stacking

Wide Mobile (483-900px):
- Horizontal layout at bottom center
- Back-to-top remains on right side
- Zoom button hidden

Narrow Mobile (<483px):
- Back-to-top moved UP (5.5rem) to avoid overlap
- Still positioned on right side
- Horizontal button layout maintained

Accessibility:
- All buttons present and clickable
- Proper visibility checks

This test caught and validates the recent fixes:
1. Back-to-top on RIGHT (not left) in all mobile viewports
2. Narrow mobile positioning to prevent button overlap
3. Consistent hover effects across all buttons

Test results: 4/4 passed
- Desktop layout verification
- Wide mobile responsive layout
- Narrow mobile overlap prevention
- Button accessibility validation

- Projects (with icons, descriptions, tech stacks)
- Courses (with icons, institutions, dates)
- Languages
- References

juanatsap 4b01134584 chore: delete redundant test archive - enforce zero redundancy policy
Deleted entire tests/archive/ directory (17+ test files, 188KB)
- All archive tests were 100% redundant with active tests
- Archive contained: toggles, zoom, hyperscript, keyboard, integration, misc tests
- Active tests (0-11) provide superior coverage

Updated TEST-SUMMARY.md:
- Removed archive references
- Added "Test Philosophy" section
- Updated test count to reflect deletion
- Emphasized zero redundancy policy

Coverage mapping (archive → active):
- toggles/* → 1-toggles.test.mjs
- zoom/* → 0-zoom.test.mjs + 10-zoom-persistence + 11-zoom-ui-exclusion
- hyperscript/* → 3-hyperscript.test.mjs + 9-hyperscript-def-limit
- keyboard/* → 2-keyboard-shortcuts.test.mjs
- integration/* → All active tests combined
- misc/* → Various active tests

Philosophy: If a test doesn't provide unique value, it doesn't exist.

juanatsap 52e97f1411 fix: exclude footer from zoom by moving it outside zoom-wrapper
The footer was being zoomed along with CV content because it was
inside the #zoom-wrapper div. This fix moves the footer outside the
zoom-wrapper so it remains at normal size regardless of zoom level.

Changes:
- Move footer template outside zoom-wrapper in index.html
- Add UI exclusion test (11-zoom-ui-exclusion.test.mjs)

Test coverage:
- Verify footer, action bar, and menu are outside zoom-wrapper (DOM)
- Verify UI elements remain unchanged when zooming to 200%
- Verify CV content properly zooms while UI stays fixed

Before: Footer inside zoom-wrapper (zoomed with content)
After: Footer outside zoom-wrapper (stays normal size)

juanatsap 35a836adf3 fix: restore zoom level persistence on page load
Zoom level persistence was broken because hyperscript was setting the
container's value instead of the slider's value on page load.

Changes:
- Fix zoom-control.html line 10: set #zoom-slider's value (not 'my value')
- Add comprehensive zoom persistence test (10-zoom-persistence.test.mjs)
- Update cv-functions.js documentation to clarify hyperscript interop
- Add zoom control feature to README

Test results: 5/5 tests pass
- Zoom saves to localStorage when changed
- Zoom restores correctly on page reload
- Reset to 100% works and persists

Architecture note:
- Hyperscript 'call' within _="" attributes requires global JS scope
- JavaScript wrappers bridge window exposure to hyperscript evaluate()
- Pattern: window.fn() → _hyperscript.evaluate('hyperscriptFn()')

juanatsap d2330f5d48 refactor: migrate toggle and hover sync functions from JavaScript to Hyperscript
BREAKING: Removed JavaScript toggle functions in favor of organized Hyperscript architecture

Changes:
- Created organized Hyperscript file structure (no def limit with latest version):
  • static/hyperscript/utils._hs (utility functions)
  • static/hyperscript/toggles._hs (CV length, icons, theme toggles)
  • static/hyperscript/hover-sync._hs (PDF/Print hover sync + zoom highlight)

- Removed functions._hs (renamed to utils._hs for better organization)

- Emptied static/js/cv-functions.js (kept file with migration notice)
  • toggleCVLength, toggleIcons, toggleTheme → toggles._hs
  • syncPdfHover, syncPrintHover, highlightZoomControl → hover-sync._hs

- Updated templates/index.html to load all 3 new hyperscript files

- Updated tests/mjs/1-toggles.test.mjs for responsive design
  • Added viewport detection for desktop vs mobile toggles
  • Tests now adapt to screen size

Rationale:
- Test 9 confirmed NO def limit with latest hyperscript (tested up to 5 defs)
- Better separation of concerns with category-based file organization
- Aligns with server-side hypermedia pattern (HTMX + Hyperscript)
- Eliminates workaround JavaScript duplication
- 9 total def statements across 3 files (proving no limit)

Verified:
All hyperscript files load successfully (HTTP 200)
 Hyperscript library loads without errors
 Functions work correctly in browser
 No console errors
Test 9 (def limit) passes with 5 def statements

juanatsap 5d5b050029 feat: confirm no hyperscript def limit + update documentation
MAJOR FINDING: Latest hyperscript version has NO 3 def statement limit!

Test Results (tests/mjs/9-hyperscript-def-limit.test.mjs):
 1 def statement - PASS
 2 def statements - PASS
 3 def statements - PASS
4 def statements - PASS (beyond historical limit)
5 def statements - PASS (well beyond limit)

Changes:
1. Created comprehensive def limit test
   - tests/mjs/9-hyperscript-def-limit.test.mjs
   - Tests 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 def statements
   - Verifies both parsing and function execution

juanatsap f87a1a5c28 fix: implement complete hover synchronization for PDF/Print buttons
CRITICAL BUG FIX: Hover states now sync between action bar and hamburger menu

Changes:
1. Added mouseenter/mouseleave handlers to menu PDF button
   - templates/partials/navigation/hamburger-menu.html:178-181
   - Added .menu-pdf-btn class for targeting
   - Added hyperscript hover sync events

2. Updated syncPdfHover() function
   - static/js/cv-functions.js:71-82
   - Now selects both .pdf-btn and .menu-pdf-btn
   - Both buttons get .pdf-hover-sync class on hover

3. Updated syncPrintHover() function
   - static/js/cv-functions.js:88-99
   - Now selects both .print-btn and .menu-print-btn
   - Both buttons get .print-hover-sync class on hover

4. Added CSS for menu PDF button hover sync
   - static/css/main.css:2690-2700
   - .menu-pdf-btn.pdf-hover-sync styling (white bg, red icon)
   - Matches action bar PDF button hover state

5. Created comprehensive hover sync test
   - tests/mjs/8-hover-sync.test.mjs
   - Tests all 4 hover scenarios (bar→menu, menu→bar for both buttons)
   - Validates event handlers and CSS class application
   - Manual verification instructions included

Behavior now correct:
Hovering action bar PDF button highlights menu PDF button
Hovering action bar Print button highlights menu Print button
Hovering menu PDF button highlights action bar PDF button
Hovering menu Print button highlights action bar Print button

Fixes documented bug from PROJECT-MEMORY.md Section 3.

juanatsap 2c372eee49 feat: add social links to footer and optional company logo toggle
**Social Links in Footer (Page 2):**
- Replace address/phone with LinkedIn, GitHub, and Behance links
- Maintain email@ link
- All links are clickable and open in new tabs
- Footer displays social media profiles prominently

**Company Logo Toggle Feature:**
- Add "Show logos" toggle switch in top action bar
- Toggle displays company logos (48x48px) to the left of each experience item
- LinkedIn-style layout when logos are shown
- Logos hidden by default, optional display via toggle
- Graceful fallback: missing logos don't break layout (onerror handler)
- Logos directory created at static/images/logos/ with README

**Technical Implementation:**
- New CSS file: logo-toggle.css for toggle switch and logo layout
- JavaScript: toggleLogos() function for show/hide functionality
- Template updates: experience items now support flex layout with logos
- Action bar grid updated to accommodate 4 columns
- Logo display uses CSS class `.show-logos` on `.cv-paper`
- Print CSS: logos hidden in PDF exports by default

**User Experience:**
- Clean toggle switch UI with smooth animations
- Mobile responsive design
- Accessibility: proper ARIA labels for toggle
- Optional feature that doesn't clutter default view
- Professional LinkedIn-style appearance when enabled

Logos can be added to static/images/logos/ directory using filenames
from the companyLogo field in CV JSON data.
